Power of Dream

This poem seems so relevant to women who dream and to women who don't know how to dream, but want to ...

To have a dream in your heart that you must make come true, to think about constantly - even wake up at two or three in the morning when every things still, plotting and scheming new ways to fulfill this desire that's burning so deeply inside, it's no wish or whim - it will not be denied.

Imagine it happening - set a picture in your mind, your dreams hold the power of how you will find a way that will lead you to all, for when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Then strive on believing your dream will come true, be consistent, persistent in all that you do.

You'll come across hurdles - you'll stumble and fall, some days it will seem like your back's against the wall. Frustrated and weary and filled with self doubt but a voice from within you will rise up and shout, "You know you can do this - just stick to your schemes. Don't dwell on the obstacles - focus on your dreams.

Be self-disciplined - do whatever it takes, for the wall around success is to keep out the fakes. Whether you make them come true or let your dreams fade, one thing is for certain, a price will be paid.

The choice is all yours. - Marilyn-

Blogging for Dummies

I never thought blogging could be so hard. Not so much the posting or adding pictures to the post area, but the hard part is trying to figure out how to add to side bars or gadgets using HTML. It is like a foreign language to me. The article I am reading is Blogging for Dummies 101, and if this is for dummies they better have a pre-dummies 101, because this is just not working for me! I cannot let it get the better of me ... I mean if kids can get this, there is no reason I shouldn't !! If you all see additions under my tags, you will know I got it!!

HELP!!!

Getting Ready for Wedding

What a day ... one by one though I am checking items off of my "to do" list getting ready for my daughters BIG DAY. With only 3 weekends left, there is no time to waste!

So today I cut slits into the tops of corks which we are using for name card holders. Only cut myself once with the hacksaw, so wasn't too bad! My daughter, Lindsay's finance is Italian and loves his wine so we are doing a wine theme; now just have to find 15 bottles of wines to mark each table...think I will go to Bev-Mo, they always have good sales.

Being the beautiful hot day that it is in California today, thought what better time to go pull weeds from the rose garden! It's amazing how fast weeds can grow ... seems I just did it! But luckily the ground was soft and they pulled right out, roots and all. Hoping they stay away at least till after July 17th.

Next weekend taking a break, July 4th weekend and have 3 days off, so heading to the lake, and I cannot wait; first time this summer I will be up there. Riding the wave runner is so freeing ... I can ride for what seems like miles. And the water is so warm ... I just love it. It's real dry up at the lake so not sure if there will be fireworks to watch ...might have to watch some on TV if want to see them. Even without fireworks, it's going to be a great weekend for the family!

Way too many corks!

My First Day!

Hello Blog World!

"Today is the first day of the rest of my life!" I woke up this morning and could not wait to log on to my computer to get started on my new blog. For over a month now, I have spent night after night looking at all the amazing blog pages and have discovered a whole new world ... one I want to be a part of! I have discovered a community of amazing and talented women who converge from all over the world to share their stories, artistic talents and inspirational messages ... you have opened up a world of imagination and possibilities. I am not sure today what direction I am heading, but what I do know is that I am going forward which I have not done for many years.

I have always wanted to work in mixed media, collages and enjoy putting things together to form something unique and beautiful. Photography, a definite love of mine, yet one in which I have never dabbled in. Actually, I do not even own a camera, although that could change very quickly! A photo can tell the story of a life ... one picture can say a thousand words. A black and white photo or sepia toned picture of a face or a pair of hands can tell you everything about a person. Their life story can be captured in a click of a lens.

These are all possibilities that await me and it is now up to me to face the fears that have prevented me from living my dream. One fear at a time, one small step at a time. Today IS the first day of the rest of my life! Thank you to all the women who have and continue to inspire me!

a full and elegant life
